We have a wide range of opportunities across many SAP areas here at The Config Team. This month, we spoke to Finance Solution Architect, Simon Tam, to get his insights on his work within SAP FICO.
“As an SAP Finance Solution Architect, I have spent over 20 years designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting SAP for a wide variety of industries including FMCG, chemicals, automotive, services, manufacturing, government, and non-profit.
I joined The Config Team having previously worked for a large consultancy, and then as an independent SAP consultant. Having grown so much, taking on more customers and projects, the business identified a real need for a permanent SAP FICO resource. Since I started, I have been involved in lots of exciting projects with some of the biggest global brands, and had many opportunities to utilise S/4HANA in my work. Finance touches so many areas of the supply chain, so SAP FICO will always play an important role in what The Config Team does.
It’s an exciting time to be part of The Config Team right now. Since I joined, we have taken on some really impressive new customers and are recruiting strategically, as well as supporting the upskilling of existing team members, to ensure that our skills match current and future projects.
After being an independent consultant, I really value being part of a company like The Config Team that places such importance on peer communities and wellbeing, offering a great work-life balance, with a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility. Maintaining a family business feel despite its growth, there is a real balance between getting the job done right while having fun.
