We’re excited to be embarking on a new engagement with a leading operator of grocery retail chains based in Sweden. The project will focus on helping its team plan for the migration to SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) by way of a feasibility study, as part of its wider strategic S/4HANA roadmap.
The customer operates three warehouses, and is currently migrating two of them from SAP Warehouse Management (WM) to EWM on S/4HANA. Due to the complexities and timescales involved, the third warehouse, which contains frozen goods, was not included in the scope of this project. Therefore, the business now requires a detailed plan to upgrade this final warehouse to EWM. As specialists in SAP EWM, we were asked to assist with this requirement.
After an introductory session, it was decided that a feasibility study carried out by our senior functional and technical consultants would be the most effective approach. The study will comprise of an in-depth review of the current SAP system ‘as is’ state, gaining a deep understanding of future requirements and making recommendations for the most appropriate solution to support the customer’s strategic roadmap across all sites.
Our recommendations will entail a comprehensive assessment report and playback session covering all options for moving to EWM on S/4HANA and their implications on current processes, as well as new standard functionalities that can benefit the business. Additionally, we will support the customer’s team in completing their business case for the migration.
Commenting on this project, our head of UK SAP practice, Paul Fraser, said: “We are thrilled to support a new customer in its EWM migration journey. Our extensive experience and deep operational and technical knowledge in EWM and S/4HANA make us the ideal partner to deliver a successful feasibility study that is tailored to the company’s unique needs.”
