Our team in Australia is delighted to be working on an exciting project with one of our valued customers in the region, helping integrate its third-party logistics (3PL) operations into SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
We have been working with the customer, a leading Australian pharmaceutical wholesale and distribution business, for several years on a variety of successful engagements, including lots of work around optimising its SAP EWM solution.
The customer currently manages all its 3PL operations externally to SAP EWM. Although it originally planned to integrate them, this was never finalised. As part of these plans, it has started integrating 3PL support into EWM for one of its warehouses, however this is not currently live.
With our unmatched knowledge of the customer’s systems and processes, deep SAP EWM expertise and a proven track record of delivering successful 3PL integration projects, we have been asked to assist with completing the work required to integrate three 3PLs across its two warehouses.
The project will focus on all relevant EWM customisation and master data identification to enable warehouse operatives to seamlessly receive, put away, manage inventory, retrieve and issue 3PL-owned stock. As work has already begun integrating one of the 3PLs into one of the warehouses, our expectation will be to leverage this configuration where relevant for its extension into the other warehouse and use this as a basis for the other 3PLs in scope.
This collaborative project will see our expert team handle new system configuration in EWM and new or updated functional requirements where development is necessary. We will also conduct train-the-trainer sessions on the newly added EWM processes and provide go-live support and hypercare before handing over to the customer for business as usual.
