Building on a strong history of successful SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and S/4HANA projects, we are delighted to be working with one of our customers in Australia on the implementation of a decentralised SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) on S/4HANA solution into its new distribution centre.
The customer, a leading distributor of electronic components, is currently finalising the construction of a new distribution centre (DC) in New South Wales, which will enable the consolidation of several smaller warehouses and improve on the efficiency of its existing sites through automation.
Deciding on decentralised EWM on S/4HANA as the most suitable warehouse management solution for the site, and for future rollouts into its other sites across Australia and New Zealand, the business engaged an external system integrator (SI) to produce a blueprint, however, the proposed solution did not meet business requirements. Based on our on-the-ground EWM and S/4HANA expertise in the region, and our experience in successfully delivering similar solutions across a variety of industries globally, we were brought in to produce a revised solution design.
Following the approval of our proposed blueprint and having developed a deep understanding of the customer’s processes and requirements, we will now be moving forward together with the implementation stages of the project.
The system will be built and configured by our expert EWM and S/4HANA consultants, working closely with the customer’s internal stakeholders to ensure that it encompasses all processes required while also adhering to SAP best practice.
The implementation will be broken down into two phases to allow for smooth continuous operations. Phase one will see us cover manual operations in the DC, including basic inbound receiving and outbound shipping. Phase two will then involve the introduction of automation and more advanced inbound and outbound processes.
Also included in our services, we will be providing process execution documentation and delivering 1-1 training to key users who will then be responsible for future end-user training. We will also be providing go-live and hypercare support to ensure that the new system is functioning correctly and all users are comfortable.
Commenting on this latest win, Australian practice lead, Stephen Hackett, said: “We are excited to be kicking off this great project with a fantastic company, delivering the benefits of SAP EWM and S/4HANA to its operations. We have a brilliant, experienced team in Australia with a real depth of expertise. Having already worked with the customer on the blueprint design phase, we are well placed to make an accelerated start on the implementation, and we can’t wait to begin.”
