We are very happy to be working with a new customer to deliver PreBilt™, our mobile scanning solution for the SAP supply chain, to a storage facility in the UK.
The company, a port group operator and shipping specialist, currently uses SAP Inventory Management (IM) on S/4HANA to manage activity at its controlled engineering stores in Liverpool. However, onsite teams are reliant on paper-based manual processes to manage goods receipt and inventory counting processes, as well as issuing maintenance orders. Introducing mobile RF scanning for these warehouse processes, PreBilt will be deployed to improve the user experience, increase efficiency and promote greater productivity, with the potential to deliver further digitisation in future projects.
PreBilt for IM will provide onsite teams with new tools to manage inventory activity throughout the warehouse. Stock enquiry and physical inventory functions let users issue new orders, write-offs and changes, as well as allow the transfer of stock between storage locations. Operators can use the barcode scanner to decode labels and input data more efficiently, while image capture capabilities will promote greater visibility and traceability across the goods receipt process.
Although PreBilt is a particularly user-friendly mobile solution, requiring minimal end-user training, we will provide the customer with knowledge transfer services throughout initial delivery. These sessions will inform key/super users, as well as maintenance and support teams, how to make the best use of the solution, maximising its potential impact and encouraging a swift uptake.
